Do you cater for children at The Horse & Jockey?

The Horse & Jockey welcomes children under 16 until 9pm and we have a dedicated kids’ menu here that is available during food service hours. We respectfully ask that children are supervised by an adult at all times.

Is the Horse & Jockey dog friendly?

Yes, well-behaved dogs are welcome into the bar area and outside spaces.


Do you cater for parties?   

Yes, we cater for birthdays, celebrations, wakes, wedding receptions, private dining and Christmas parties.

What time is food served from?

We serve food Sunday to Thursday 12pm-9pm and Friday & Saturday 12pm-10pm 

What’s on tap at The Horse & Jockey?

We have four rotating guest ale pumps, two of which are our very own True North ales. We also offer a range of lagers, ciders and guest beers.

Does the Horse & Jockey cater for people with special dietary requirements?   

If you have a food allergy or intolerance, please speak to a member of the team before placing your order. Full allergen information is available upon request and can be viewed here. Food is prepared in an area where other allergens are present, and our menu descriptions do not list all ingredients. Fish and poultry products may contain small bones.

Does the Horse & Jockey have a vegetarian, gluten free or vegan menu?   

Our main food menu has options available for special dietary requirements. 

Dishes are marked clearly with the following: V Vegetarian, VO Vegetarian Option Available, VG Vegan, VGO Vegan Option Available. 

Where can I find the allergen menu?

Which food delivery platforms are you on and where do you deliver to?

We’re offering some of our menu favourites for you to enjoy at home. You can place an order for delivery to your door via Uber Eats here.

Can I collect food from you?

All our pizzas are available to take away from Monday to Saturday at 25% off. To order, call 0114 698 4360 or order in venue and join us for a drink while you wait.

Is The Horse & Jockey wheelchair accessible and do you have accessible toilets?   

We have wheelchair access located at the back of the Horse & Jockey.

We regret that we don’t have a dedicated disabled toilet. ​

Does The Horse & Jockey offer student discount?   

No. We don’t offer student discount.

Do you provide free Wi-Fi?  

Yes. You can use our Wi-Fi for free. Please ask a member of staff.

What measures are you taking to ensure customers are safe in your venue? 

Understandably we have made some changes in light of social distancing and heightened safety measures for both or staff and guests.  

Some of the measures are: 

  • Enhanced cleaning regimes  
  • Distancing measures 
  • Hand sanitiser freely available  
  • Increased order at table availability 
  • Staff safety training

How do I join the True North Brew Co Rewards scheme?

As a member of our Rewards scheme you will receive 5% of everything you spend back onto your card to use within our venues, a gift on your birthday, and exclusive offers throughout the year.


How can I use my Rewards card?   

When you make a purchase in one of our venues please hand over your Rewards card for your server to scan. If you do not have your card on you at the time you can add your points using the code on your receipt. To do this, go to your online reward account, click ‘Redeem Code’ and enter the code as it appears on the bottom of the receipt.

I have a True North Brew Co gift card – can I use it at the Horse and Jockey?

Yes. You can redeem the True North Brew Co gift card in venues operated by True North Brew Co. Gift cards can be used to purchase goods and services in venue.
